Have you seen the movie Wild Hogs yet? Go ahead and buy it. It is destined to be the motorcycle cult movie of the now generation. When I first viewed it, I just watched for pleasure. Since “Grease” I have been a John Travolta Fan. In fact I always thought he would have made a great Fonz. You know, really cool!
The second time I viewed it, I paid more attention to the details, the bikes, the clothes the men, the women. Mostly in the movie I could see the dream of every biker, the power of the machine and the free road.
The movie could be about any four bikers I meet on our web site www.agelessparlor.com these days. Bikers are still cool dudes, yet today they are doctors, lawyers, pilots, managers, CEO’s. Men and women from every walk of life, who can afford a bike, have the credit to buy one and can pay for the gas. The road then belongs to them.
A lot of the guys and gals we sell to are first time bikers looking for the perfect outfit for their new bike. Most of them have a mental picture of what a biker needs to look like. A lot of them are influenced from movies they have seen. The Fonz on Happy Days set the mode for many of today’s biker We all grew up watching him play the ultimate cool guy. He looked and talked the part but underneath that leather was a man who had a sharp mind. Most new bikers today want to look as sharp and cool, but with a little more flair. Normally they are looking for something to wear to compliment or match their new motor bike They want to be seen as a one piece ensemble, man and machine
Guys mostly like an all black look with black leather jackets, vests. Chaps saddle bags and helmets. The bike they are driving is black with chrome, and for some fringe. We have noticed a trend in the past couple of years for more diversified colors in the textile jackets and pants they purchase, especially yellow and black mix. For the most part, black leather is by far our most popular seller as are our black helmets.
Gals like black too, but like to add a little color. It’s kind of like adding lipstick, eye shadow or nail polish. Color defines the personality of the wearer. Gals want to look good on the bike and off the bike.
We can outfit you. Our helmet only shop www.helmetsforfun.com has full face helmets, half helmets, three quarter helmets with and without flip shields, motocross helmets and helmet accessories. Want a pony tail for your helmet? We have it. Need color on top of your helmet? Visit us.
Everybody on a bike wants an individual look, whether you are in a motorcycle club or riding alone. In today’s market there is something for everyone. One of our most popular items is the Mohawk. Check all eight colors. Get yourself a spike for the top of the helmet. Teen riders, twenty something and even us old fogeys like something different every now and then. We all want to make a statement. What’s yours?
Movies influence us. On Wild Hogs a skeleton face mask is used by one of the guys. Since the movie came out we have sold dozens of this design. They are warm, look cool and keep the bugs off your face. They come in full face and half face masks. Like the Fonz and his leather jacket, movies often set the tone of what we wear or how we present ourselves. In the all time cult motorcycle movie, Easy Rider, Peter Fonda became the coolest dude on wheels. The Captain America helmet star flag style he wore is still one of our best sellers. The retro designed one we sell is exactly like the movie, though ours does come with a bubble visor. It can be worn with or without the visor. See it for yourself at http://www.agelessparlor.com/products.asp?cat=39&pg=2 It is a beauty.
Fulfill your dreams and expectations on the back of your motorcycle, with a clear picture in your head from your favorite movie of how you want to look. You are the Star.
Ride Safe.
