Amazing Grace

Posted by Judy  Published in Product Reviews

One of the most amazing things in life to me has been “Amazing Grace”. There is hardly a church going person in the Christian world who has not heard this song. A few years ago, my Granddaughter, who was three at the time, came to spend the night.  After I listen to her prayers, read her a story, tucked her in and turned down the lights I heard her sniffling from the bed. Thinking she was homesick, and ready to go home, I prepared in my mind how I was going to get her to finish out the night at our house. I sat down beside her on the bed and asked the leading question. “What’s wrong baby”

She wiped her nose , sniffle some more and said “Nana, You didn’t sing “Amazing Grace.”

“Amazing Grace the church song ,” I asked.  I was trying to think of how many of the words I knew by memory.

“My Dad sings it to me everynight. He says the most amazing thing about life is Grace.” She then proceded to sing me the entire song, all verses. Sweetest music I have ever heard. Her little voice was clear and pure.

When she was through she looked over at me. “Amazing Grace ” is amazing isn’t it,” she stated.

I was all choked up and could hardly speak. Yes, this was not only amazing, it was Grace sent to me from an Angel.

Grace comes into your life when you allow God to be in control, When you not only believe in Him, but in his Power. When worshiping Him is first on your to do list.

We sell to large groups of Christian Riders and Ministers. These are church going people who are in motorcycle clubs, go to rallies, ride for Charities, spend their money on their bikes, and gear and most of all spend time together fellowshipping in the world outside a Church Frame. There is Amazing Grace at work. In a secular world known for secular activities, here are truly amazing groups of people sharing their beliefs and  Keeping God in their lives in all they do. We tip our hat to you this month. Keep up the good work and feel the Grace of God wash over you.

Our new Christian helmets should be back in stock in three weeks. Check with us for your helmet, leather or cordura needs. We have soemthing for you  in our store.

Step Into the Future Sleek Modern Helmet

2009 is almost history. We can’t say it was the best year we have experienced, but we do have lots of memories of good and faithful customers. Thank you. While the economy slumped, our business headed downward. Riders buckled down with lost jobs, lost credit, tightened budgets, and made do. We sold more shields for helmet repairs last year than ever before. We sold Y Straps, Mohawks, face masks. About the only thing in the lower price range we did not sell many of was stickers. We think We’ll have one printed up ” Survived 2009″ Sometimes we wondered if we would, but the web sites are still there and so far we are still paying the bills. Hope you have had a good year. Really hope your 2010 finds you riding in the wind, through the wind and pushing the wind. Dot Helmet M & M Motorcycle Modular Helmets

Posted by Judy  Published in Product Reviews

New Licensed and Number Limited Edition M & M Helmet

Purchase this one at www.agelessparlor.com

Take a look at our new M&M Modular helmet. It is a beauty.

This helmet is a limited edition M & M Designed Helmet. Each helmet is numbered with a letter of authenticity to each new owner.

I tried this helmet. It is comfortable to wear. My head stayed warm. The fit and the padding made my head feel secure. The clear shield provided good eye sight and protection. I caught a lot of eyes in this flashy helmet that is not only fun to wear, but a dream to own. Taken care of it will go up in value.

This extra fine quality helmet represents our factory design director, Tony Dilberto’s, dream of putting animation on production helmets. He started with a photograph of animated M&M’s and instead of drawing it as art or using computer aided design-programs, he had the animation separated into the same four-color process that prints books and magazines. Then the four-color separation is ink printed on thin, flexible water slide decals, put on the helmet and clear coated. This unique method of design is made to last and to be fade resistant.

The inside of the helmet is pure quality. Dot Approved. This helmet has:

*Padded neck roll and chin strap

*Injection molded eye port

*Borrom edge trim

*Replaceable brushed nylon interior

*Silicon coated face shield

*Injection molded polycarbonate shell

*Forehead and chin vents

Dot or Novelty Helmets Which for You?

Posted by Judy  Published in Product Reviews

Motorcycle wrecks are serious business. Not much between you and the pavement to prevent injuries to head, chest and legs.

Yesterday, in the local Newspaper, was a picture of a crumbled up motorcycle. Driver had died at the scene. His helmet lay over by the curb. His body went to the morgue.  Caption said he was seen popping wheelies on the highway.  Young, foolish, and now dead.

I downloaded the picture so I could take a look at the helmet. We sell to a lot of the local riders and wanted to see if it was one of ours.  I recognized the helmet as one I had seen numerous times in shops, on eBay, on the web. It was a novelty spike helmet with a DOT sticker on the back It was not a DOT Approved Helmet. Whether the rider bought a novelty and added  the sticker or bought it thinking the helmet was DOT approved, we will never know, but it could not protect his head. On Impact the helmet not only popped off, its side was crushed. Could I have looked inside I would have seen a thin lining which would have been no protection whatsoever. DOT stickers are easily bought and printed off. I see people selling them all the time on Ebay, at flea markets, even yard sales.

If you are sincerely looking for a DOT Approved helmet on the web and do not know the dealer or recognize the brand, make sure the ad says the DOT sticker is clear coated under the glaze.  You can view a sample of this on our web site www.agelessparlor.com We sell quality reasonable priced helmets for motorcycles, motorscooters and ATV wear. We sell DOT and Novelty helmets. Our ads clearly state what you are buying.

Novelty helmets have their place. If you live in a State with lax or no helmet laws, you can wear novelty helmets for looks. There are some really neat ones out there. We sell some of them. You can check them out in our http://helmetsforfun.com shop. There you will find novelty helmets for motorcycle riding. You can enjoy the German Style Chromes with spikes, our most popular novelty or checking out the black and colored fibers. These helmets are not DOT or Snell Approved.

If you value your life and want to ride as safely as possible, you will include a  a DOT approved or Snell Approved Helmet in your motorcycle gear wardrobe, no matter the law of your State. Protect your head. Remember not all wrecks and wipe-outs are fatal, some can just make you a mental vegetable for the rest of your life. Do what you can to protect your life and your future.  Ride safe.

Off Road Safety Gear for Your Child

Posted by Judy  Published in Product Reviews

Your child’s life is precious to you. You have worked hard to get him/her where he/she is today. Some of you have worked two jobs, long hours, given your money, time and talents on the sports fields, cheer leading, football, soccer, Little League, basketball, and hockey, served as Scout Leaders, taught Sunday Schools, and supported school and parent organizations. This list does not touch the hours, sweat, tears and worry you have in this child. Now he has his first motorized vehicle. How can you protect him as he embraces “man and machine?” We can help you at http://www.agelessparlor.com Your child’s safety is important to us.

Riding machines mastery becomes boy, girl against machine and elements. They are more than a fun toy. They are serious fun and must be treated as such. They are dangerous to your child’s life. If this machine is your passion or your child’s passion, get prepared with the best safety precautions out there.

The first thing to consider is your child’s head. Protect his head with a good sound quality DOT* Motocross helmet with a good fit.

How to find his size? Please use a cloth tape to take your measurement. It is better to have a helper do the measuring in order to get a more accurate measurement. The circumference of the head should be measured at a point approximately one inch above the eyebrows, or at whatever point gives the largest possible measurement. If you find that your measurement falls between two sizes, choose the smaller size.

A proper fitting DOT* helmet is critical to the comfort and enjoyment of your helmet. It also plays a critical role in the performance of your helmet in the event of a collision.

Never or wear a motorcycle, motocross helmet without making sure you have a proper snug fit (not too tight, and not too loose - just right!) There are several methods and tricks to size a motorcycle helmet. We recommend the following method:

A. Measure: Consult sizing chart for that brand. Different brands have different charts.

B. Not too tight: Once you have the new motocross helmet in hand, put the helmet on by grasping the sides in each hand and pulling it on over your ears until you feel the top portion of the helmet touch. Check for the following red flags: A. The helmet immediately feels too tight. B. Your head does not touch the top of the motorcycle helmet. C. You can’t pull the helmet down over your ears. D. It’s painful in any way. If any of these apply, you probably need the next size larger.

C. Not too loose: Once you have found a helmet that feels comfortable and snug, you must make sure that it is not too loose. To do this, securely fasten the chin

strap, grasp the helmet chin bar or sides firmly with one hand and try to move the helmet from side to side and up and down. If the helmet slides on your skin and hair, it is too large. If your scalp and skin want to move with the helmet, the fit is about right.

D. Just Right: One final check. Reach back to the back of the helmet and try to rotate the helmet as far down and forward as possible. Then do the same as far backward as possible. If the helmet feels as if it might slide off in either direction, the helmet is either too big or the chin strap was not securely fastened.

Congratulations! If you passed these tests, you now have a properly fitting helmet that will maximize safety and minimize wind noise as well! Check out our sizing charts http://www.agelessparlor.com/sizing_charts_for_leather.htm

The next thing to consider is your child’s eyes. Buy goggles. Protect your child’s eyes. We offer a free pair of goggles with each motocross youth helmet purchased. We feel that strongly about this safety feature. Goggles should have an adjustable strap, have an optical quality that promotes distortion free lens with slopes to reduce glare. Meet or exceeds Z87.1-68 requirements set forth by OSHA for safety.

Another Important thing to consider is your child’s chest. Chest protectors are a must to protect your child’s chest from limbs and flying rocks. We sell a quality line of chest protectors in today’s new light weight designs.  Check out our new fun site: http://helmetsforfun.com/…?main_page=index&cPath=11&zenid=0016e8495025bb15a9bd255e3c695738 Our chest protectors are made of high impact resistant polycarbonante and provides a high level of comfort and protection. This chest protector shields against dirt and debris while off-road riding, which includes Motocross and ATVs. It will not protect against street riding impacts. Its shape conforms to a rider’s back, superior roost deflection, bio foam padded edges, quick adjustable arm guards, fully adjustable front and rear shoulder attachments for custom fitting, dual density shoulder padding, two piece back panel, and secure side release closure buckles.

Last and not least protect your child with a good machine. Be sure this is a fine tuned well running machine. No Matter your choice, dirt bike, ATV, Snowmobile, used, new or rented, make sure this machine has been checked out by a qualified mechanic.

You’ve done what you can. You have outfitted him in the best gear, You had the machine checked out. You gave him the rules you can live by and the consequences for the breaking of those rules. You’ve taught him to respect other’s property and ask before he rides on someone else’s land or woods. Now the challenge is to let him go try to master the machine. He can!

* DOT-Department of Transportation approved.
