Ever get the feeling you are sitting at a stop sign? Engine is reving The road ahead has a sign “dead -end.” You have already been left and right and gone no where interesting. You do not want to turn around and go back. In fact you do not even want to think about that and the mistakes you made there. Now what? I’ve been sitting here for about two years now. Ever since the economy took a down ward turn and business dropped off, I have had a lot of time to sit at the stop sign wandering if my tires are both down, glue to the pot or just out of gas. I have always been a go getter, a planner, a person with a thousand ideas, suddenly I feel out of sync with the world.

Talked to one of our customers yesterday, She and her husband and a group of friend were heading out to Arkansas for a week long adventure, unfortunately storms were coming, so they had changed to Texas. I like that about riding, you have a little time you can go anywhere. Destinations abound in the US. Here’s my wish for you, Make it so. Take hold of your dreams and let them be. I’ve been here at the stop sign for a while now. It’s a lonely place. I plan on you sending me some free advice on how to get this motor in gear.

In the mean time, buy one of our Hawk Dual Visors. They are highly rated and highly sought after. We should have a new supply within a couple of weeks. Get them while you can.

Motorcycle riders deserve respect.

Jerry and I have been married 47 years. “Lord have mercy,” a guy told Jerry recently. “To the same woman?” Life has been good for us. We are enjoying retired life.. We sell on the internet to make a lttle extra money to pay for things like food, clothes and gas. Retirement is another word for ”never enough money.”

Buy one of our new Hawk Full Face Modular Dual Visors. We have the black gloss, black matte and a host of graphics. Need shields for your Hawk, Outlaw or Rodia helmet? We got em. Go to This link www.agelessparlor.com

One thing I have learned being in the sales business on the Internet, people are more open about sharing their problems with a stranger.

In the past 11 years of selling on the net, I have met many friends and a few relatives who are openly gay. They marry, share their lives, have children. attend church, work everyday, pay taxes, serve in the Military, go to Church, help support our nation. I have no idea what makes one person gay and the next one not. I suspect within the next 5 to 10 years, we will all know from DNA Mapping that gay preferences may not be a choice, but a necessity from birth. As science advances, our knowledge of the human body is going to take great strides.

In the meantime, I have it rated right up there with my neighbor’s and my children’s personal lives, I do not consider this to be any of my business. I consider it to be their business and God’s business. I love these family members, and friends and I cannot and will not sit in judgement. Lord forbid they sit in judgement on me! My life is hardly pure. To me this is the biggest prejudice of all, sitting in judgement of your fellow man. I’m not God, nor do I want to be. I’m not a stone thrower, not do I want to be. I want to be able to enjoy the people God puts in my life and I do.

In the Motorcycle world there are lots of gay people riding. Can they be upfront with this without a lot of heckling? I hope, if the subject comes up, they can and wil be. It may not be a macho thing for some riders to accept yet there are a lot of riders who feel like me. Can they form their own clubs and enjoy their hobbies, I’m sure they have. Do they buy from me, I hope so. I have a few good stickers I would like to sell them for their helmets on my web site. www.agelessparlor.com

One of the great joys riders have is time on the road with the wind, a few brisk moments of freedom from the pressures of life and for one shining moment, an enjoyment of living free. Let us accept all riders on the road as fellow human beings and give them the respect they deserve and expect the same.

Ride Safe!

One of the most amazing things in life to me has been “Amazing Grace”. There is hardly a church going person in the Christian world who has not heard this song. A few years ago, my Granddaughter, who was three at the time, came to spend the night. After I listen to her prayers, read her a story, tucked her in and turned down the lights I heard her sniffling from the bed. Thinking she was homesick, and ready to go home, I prepared in my mind how I was going to get her to finish out the night at our house. I sat down beside her on the bed and asked the leading question. “What’s wrong baby”

She wiped her nose , sniffle some more and said “Nana, You didn’t sing “Amazing Grace.”

“Amazing Grace the church song ,” I asked. I was trying to think of how many of the words I knew by memory.

“My Dad sings it to me everynight. He says the most amazing thing about life is Grace.” She then proceded to sing me the entire song, all verses. Sweetest music I have ever heard. Her little voice was clear and pure.

When she was through she looked over at me. “Amazing Grace ” is amazing isn’t it,” she stated.

I was all choked up and could hardly speak. Yes, this was not only amazing, it was Grace sent to me from an Angel.

Grace comes into your life when you allow God to be in control, When you not only believe in Him, but in his Power. When worshiping Him is first on your to do list.

We sell to large groups of Christian Riders and Ministers. These are church going people who are in motorcycle clubs, go to rallies, ride for Charities, spend their money on their bikes, and gear and most of all spend time together fellowshipping in the world outside a Church Frame. There is Amazing Grace at work. In a secular world known for secular activities, here are truly amazing groups of people sharing their beliefs and Keeping God in their lives in all they do. We tip our hat to you this month. Keep up the good work and feel the Grace of God wash over you.

Our new Christian helmets should be back in stock in three weeks. Check with us for your helmet, leather or cordura needs. We have soemthing for you in our store.

I wrote this blog a few years ago but it bears repeating.

I lived life in the fast lane for about 46 years. Fast Lane being driving like mad to get to work on time and driving like mad to get back to the day care or home for dinner. Driving my kids to all kinds of activities, making sure I remembered to work my parents in my life, keeeping my husband as the number one person in my life and just skidded, skated and drove around everything else. Fast lane meant balancing the budget, keeping up the house and being the forever concerned Wife, Mother, daughter, Sister and friend.

One of my favorite thoughts was Someday. You Know ‘Someday I am going to travel, make a lot of money, pay off the house, have friends over for a big party, dance all night long.’ My Someday list just goes on and on. Today, I have to make money to pay for the bills of yesterday. Tomorrow, I have to make money to pay for today, but darn it, soon Someday will come! My thoughts on Someday were kind of shot out of the sky on my birthday this year. My 87 year old Mother looked up at me and said, “Happy Birthday. I love you. You better start dancing now”. Theres a thought. I need to embrace Someday before it gets completely away from me. Kids are all about grown now.

Motorcycle riding is a sport a lot of people my age have taken up. My Husband opened a Helmet business a few years ago www.agelessparlor.com and through him I have met some wonderful bikers. They are all enthusiastic about riding. The more I Listened the more I knew this was ”today” list material. It Hasn’t turned out to be a cheap sport but, beats the heck out of sitting in front of the TV all week-end. Course with Alabama playing ball this fall, I’ll be there too if I am not rallying.

Stay Tuned.

We do not get a lot of snow in the South. When it comes like this week, it is almost a holiday with a party spirit. An Unexpected day off, a day of catching up or just plan goofing off. For all or you who live and deal with snow and ice, I want to say you have my up most admiration. It has to be a challenge.

Living life is a real challenge for each and every one of us.Your start down the highway with only clear sailing in your view. Hidden past the next curve is a large orange blinking sign, Detour, Road Work, Bridge out. The Detour takes you 20 miles out of your way onto an old dirt road that is full of potholes. Been there done that?

Maneuvering the Pot Holes is a skill a motorcycle driver hones fast. Otherwise he is down among them on his side with scrapes, scratches, significant injuries or death. His bike is dented, stove up, busted, or just written off as a lost cause. Do you apply this same honed skill to the rest of your life? Unfortunately, I can’t say yes to that question. I run into potholes in my life all the time and sometimes I think I standing in the thing with two feet just waiting for the dirt to cover me.

It has been that way lately. This past year I ran into a lot of ot holes and not sure whether I am going to survive them yet or not. Business is down. Credit is tight and I truly think the Government ought to take a look at the little guy. Got a letter from one of my buyer’s yesterday on today economy and the credit card crunch. Here is a little of my reply:

Mike,

If you want to know the truth, we all need to get on our soap boxes and get something done for the little guy who is working everyday trying to make ends meet and for his years of work, credit card companies decide the man who has never missed a payment has too much debt, so they pull the card. While they are at it, they notify all the other companies through the credit bureau, who suddenly decide this man is a high risk and raise his interest rates to 37.99%. The US Federal Reserve Bank allows these rates to be as high as the banks want them to be. Oh they put up a few roadblocks for them last May and then gave them 8 months to come up with ways to circumvent the new rules, and the banks did.

We need to get the government to forgive our mortgage debts on houses that are now worth 30 to 40% less than they were when we bought them. They dole it out to GM, banks and foreign companies in the billions. Shouldn’t they address our needs.

I talked to my mortgage company last week. We can do a ”short sale” and they will forgive a hundred thousand. My house is now worth 40% less than when I bought it. The only problem is the hundred thousand now becomes income via a 1099 at the end of the year and we have to pay federal tax on it. My credit will also take a major hit like a foreclosure.

1. I like my house and do not want to sell, but value in this area has gone down 40%. I will not live long enough for it to come back up. Should Jerry die I could not sell it as we had planned nor pay for it. He has been in bad health for several years with his heart and diabetes.

2.Our house has acreage (3 acres). Real Estate lady says none of the generation buying homes want to fool with acreage. They are too busy. We live in a rural area which until last year was the fastest growing place in Alabama. Last year the top realtor in our area told us only 10 houses in our price range sold and all at 40 to 60% less than the appraised value of two years ago. Who is going to buy it?

3. I sure as heck do not have tax money on $100,000.

That is my soap box! Give me a congressman who doesn’t take payoffs from the lobbyist and I will vote for him or her, Give me a man or woman who says American citizens who pays my salary will get the first benefit of my administration with lower debt, lower credit card and loan rates, more money for the elderly, the homeless and a tractor trailer loaded with money for each school in this country, and if this is not accomplished I will return the salary I was paid and I will vote the guy or woman into the oval office as will all my friends and their friends

In the meantime me and all the other little guys will keep on supporting this country with our labors, taxes and children.

Get out there and have fun and put this all behind you. Nothing like the wind in your face ripping through your shirts or pushing along.

Get on your bike while you can still afford the gas and forget your troubles as you look at the USA we work hard to make. Watch out for the potholes.”

Buy something else from me when you can. I need the business. www.agelessparlor.com

Judy

Here’s a new Helmet Maddie might be interested in.

It will look great with her purple rainsuit.

Hey to all my Friends of Motorcycling lets gear up for Spring!

We had a week or two of days in the teens. Suddenly the sun broke through and Monday hit 70 degrees. Guys and gals were on the road on their motorbikes like bees to honey. Helped that it was a holiday for most folks. A little reminder to all us to grab the sunny days when they come. The dark and dreary times are always with us, but it only takes just a little of God’s Beautiful light and warmth to give us hope.

Time now to plan for Spring and the sunny warmer days of Summer. During the winter, Jerry and I pour over the seed catalogs looking for the right stuff for our garden. Gotta have the best seeds, fertilizer and tools to get a good garden in the ground in soil harden and caked from winter’s toil. Jerry spends days tuning the tractor and the tiller. When spring comes we are ready for the outdoors. I spend days dropping seeds, digging up transplants from my flower garden to new beds. Talking and urging my seedlings to grow. Vegetables are just a hoe, weeding, water and sun away. Great time to have an ATV. You can chase the deer back in the woods, where they better run if they eat my roses again this year, other wise I am investing in some heavier artillery. We live in the country. A few year ago big rat snakes started wintering and summering in the 4 ft crawl space under our back rooms. When Jerry went under there to check the pipes after winter there were several skins draped over the pipes where they had shed and left them. We Googled the problem and came up with several good ideas. We have been here a long time and never had any kind of varmint problem before. Unfortunately people around us have sold property to development and wildlife have less places to live. We had also been out on the road more than home so it was a quite dark place. The right environment you might say. Jerry said, well look on the good side we should not have rat problems! Any way we bought moth balls and saturated the ground under there with them. Jerry plugged up all holes with a foam spray. So far we haven’t seen anymore so guess they left for new territory. Snakes have a bad name. What can I say, the thought of them that close to my bedroom gave me the willies. They are on my priority list for getting ready for spring.

Getting your motorcycle riding gear in shape is another important winter activity. Some of you who are fortunate to ride all year still need to take time for getting rid of winter clutter and clean. Buy a few new clothes, gloves and get a new helmet. Jerry and I are strong on replacing our rainsuits each year. We get a lot of rain down here in the Spring and last year we got hot wet rainy days most of the summer. You would have thought we had moved to the tropics. A new 2 pc rainsuit for each of us is going to be our number one purchase this year. Also new saddle bags. We’ve been using all leather bags for years and while they hold up well, they require leather treatments and regular waterproofing. This year we are buying some of the new PVC Bags out. Great reports on those from fellow riders. We like the fact they keep their shape and are waterproof without treatment. Looks goods on the bike. Take a look at some of the ones we sell out on the web site www.agelessparlor.com This year we have added saddle bag logo pins. They are really cool.Purple is the hot color this year ladies.

For more than 10 years we have been selling leather and helmets on Ebay (agelessparlor) and our websites www.agelessparlor.com and www.helmetsforfun.com. We have met some great bikers who love to ride and want to ride safe but still look good. Our advice to all bikers is dress for success.

To dress for success on your motorcycle, scooter or ATM, you first must know what kind of rider you are or want to be.

The catorgories of biking are:

Pleasure Rider

Transportation Rider

Professional Rider

Club Rider

Pleasure riders fill up the highways on off days. The bike is their ticket to a few hours away from the burdens of life. The open highway beckons to them with a call of adventure. The biking gear we sell to these riders is the mainstay of our business. They not only wnt to feel the wind rippling through their shirt, they want to look their best. Just like a sports fan who buys his team logo jacket, hat and has a sticker on his car that says “Roll Tide” or his team’s flag waving from the top of the car, the motorcylist wears his bike’s name on his back or his bike’s colors to match. His bike is a personal part of him and with his outfit he makes his own personal statement. We sell these bikers Dot and Snell helmets., Matching helmets, Patriotic helmets, trendy graphic helmets, colored helmets a good leather or cordura jacket, Logo t-shirts, studded saddle bags, cup holders, mohawks, face masks and anything else he feels he needs to have a good time on his bike. At www.agelessparlor.com we sell all of these and more.

The transportation rider buys from us too He uses his bike as a cheaper way to get to and from work. He buys Helmets more often. He has to have a good leather set to meet the environment. He needs a first class rain suit, waterproof saddle bags, helmet bags. He uses Full Face helmets or open face helmets with shields and good gloves. He wants to arrive at work looking like the professional man or woman he is. He dresses for success by being prepared.

The Professional Rider can be a racer, a courier, or a person who uses his bike for work and pleasure. As a rule we sell accessories to these riders. For racing the racer needs a professionally made to fit him helmet and suit. We do not sell custom made. The courier’s gear is usually provided by the company. We often get emails from the professional rider looking for something special. We are always glad to check our contacts to see if we can locate the item for them. sales@agelessparlor.com

The Club Riders are riders who are more comfortable riding in groups. We sell to Clubs all over the world. We offer special discounts when groups buy moire than 5 of an item. There are so many types of groups. They ride and pay their money to ride in many worthy causes. On a billboard close to our house it says Bikers for Babies. These bikers are raising money for a cause dear to their heart. There are thusands of charities benefitting from Biker Clubs. We love to hear of their adventures and donate to their prizes often. They dress for success with their club logos and with matching helmets, or matching jackets. What ever a Club votes on. We are always glad to help.

[caption id="attachment_105" align="alignnone" width="200" caption="LOOK SHARP ON THE BIKEQuality Ladies Leather Set"][/caption]

Come visit us and take a look at our products. Need something you do not see there, email us. We will try to find it for you. Want to tell us an adventure you have had on the bike for this blog, write it up and email it to us. Good honest experience is great advice.

In the meantime ride safe.

Jerry and I have been married 46 years. We wonder where the time has gone. Just yesterday we were on the road to the town of Experience. It was fun making our own decisions as we traveled the road. In fact we thought no Adults before us had ever made any right decisions so we would be the first to have the perfect life. Now we are on the road to Regretville, regretting some of those decisions. This is what happens when you finally arrive at the town of Experience. You realize the errors you made and it is too late to change them. Our Neighbor, Mr. Taylor once said “You have to live a life to know it”. He was right. The beauty of the live you’ve lived includes triumphs, mistakes, joy, and sorrows.

We know if we were to live our life together over and be at the town of Experience at the beginning, we would do a few things different. We would base our lives on this truth: “When you have your health, you have everything” and we would work hard to keep good health rules as part of our daily living.

1. We would spend more time in Church praising our Lord.

2. We would worry less about earning money and trust God for it.

3. We would base our life on living within our means.

4. We would help more people along the way.

Things we would not change:

We would still marry each other. Our love for each other has been our treasure and the catalyst our family has used for unity and joy. We would still have children. They are the glue that helps bind us. The joy they have brought and continue to bring to our lives cannot be measured. Each is so different, yet in some ways there is a thread running through all three of them with part of each of us, which makes their actions often so familiar it is like looking back in time. We would both keep our same vocations in life. Both of us have liked our jobs.(most of the time anyway!!)

Things we still hope to do:

1. Travel more.

2. Go on trips with our children and grandchildren.

3. Modernize our house.

4. Live long and prosper.

5. Embrace God’s purpose for our lives.

August 24, 1963 to August 24, 2009, 46 wonderful years of living and loving and sharing our lives.

You can find our latest adventure selling on the internet, at www.agelessparlor.com or www.helmetsforfun.com

This helmet is a limited edition M & M Designed Helmet. Each helmet is numbered with a letter of authenticity to each new owner.

I tried this helmet. It is comfortable to wear. My head stayed warm. The fit and the padding made my head feel secure. The clear shield provided good eye sight and protection. I caught a lot of eyes in this flashy helmet that is not only fun to wear, but a dream to own. Taken care of it will go up in value.

This extra fine quality helmet represents our factory design director, Tony Dilberto’s, dream of putting animation on production helmets. He started with a photograph of animated M&M’s and instead of drawing it as art or using computer aided design-programs, he had the animation separated into the same four-color process that prints books and magazines. Then the four-color separation is ink printed on thin, flexible water slide decals, put on the helmet and clear coated. This unique method of design is made to last and to be fade resistant.

The inside of the helmet is pure quality. Dot Approved. This helmet has:
